Which is the most desirable surface for kennel runs, cement or small gravel? I can see advantages and disadvantages to each but which would you choose for the overall health and wellbeing of the dog?

cement, easy to clean with water hose, dogs feet get tougher than on wire. thats is my opion.my dogs have been on cement for 7 yrs without any problems. hops this helps

Concrete hands down...even my above ground kennels set on concrete. Scoop and hose, spray with bleach water solution then risen good...EVERY DAY...The best way to fight parasites. Gravel is a losing battle

11 kennels here, all on concrete, have NEVER had the problem's I hear about of dogs being on concrete (sore joints, bad feet).

I don't have a kennel, I let mine run the fenced in backyard as she pleases. I'm lucky that she isn't much of a digger,she does like to climb up on the deck railings to overlook the yard from 10 feet up.

concrete is all around best way to go in my oponion. i built 5 stall kennel in 1998 and love it. 20 minutes a day and you are done. had 0 problems.city sewer,roof over all and air when its over 90%
