Hello
I have a 2 year old beagle of excellent stock. He's impressively fast and fit. He's started and chases rabbits without a problem, but he doesn't do nearly as well as he should given everything he has going for him. He doesn't have as much experience as he should, though. I've only trained one dog of this quality before, but I was able to hunt her every day for a couple hours. She also caught on more or less immediately, which helped. I've only been getting out about once a week or every other week with this dog, though. During summer I did let both of them out to run more or less unattended a couple times a week (until he decided to go way out of bounds and showed up 2 days later 5 miles away, no worse for the wear). Got bunnies out back, and they love running them.
Is there anyone out there with experienced dogs who would be willing to take him for a few weeks, a month. He's got all his shots, gets along great with other dogs, used to little kids, extremely gentle. Rarely barks- surprisingly for a beagle, ime, but has a beautiful deep sound when he's on a track.
I'm in central WI.
If you'd be interested, let me know what you'd charge for the service and we can work out the details.
Thanks
